Amidst India’s Got Latent controversy, Urvashi Rautela CANCELS appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast & unfollows the youtuber

Actress Urvashi Rautela is the latest celebrity to distance herself from YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia following the controversy surrounding his comments on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Urvashi has reportedly unfollowed him on social media and has also cancelled her scheduled appearance on his podcast, which was set to take place in the coming days.

Following backlash over his remarks, Ranveer issued an apology, acknowledging his mistake and calling it a ‘lack of judgement’ on his part. In a video statement, he expressed regret, saying, “I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better.” Meanwhile, Samay Raina also addressed the controversy and revealed that he had deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube. He stated, “My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly.”

As per a report by News18, Urvashi was initially supposed to appear as a guest on Ranveer’s popular podcast, which has become a sought-after platform for celebrities promoting their upcoming films. However, in light of the intense backlash that has followed Ranveer’s controversial comment regarding incest on India’s Got Latent, she has decided to withdraw from the show.

It is also believed that Urvashi has unfollowed Ranveer on Instagram, although she has yet to release an official statement regarding her stance. Urvashi recently starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj, which has performed successfully at the box office.

The controversy stems from a comment Ranveer made in an episode featuring Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and others. He asked, “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?” The remark was widely condemned by viewers and social media users alike, leading to severe backlash.

According to PTI, Mumbai police recorded statements from seven individuals, including Ashish Chanchlani, on Thursday. Additionally, as reported by ANI, Assam Police has issued fresh summons to Ashish, Ranveer, Apoorva, Jaspreet Singh, and others following a complaint alleging that they were promoting obscenity. A senior Assam Police official confirmed that a team had been dispatched to Mumbai to further investigate the matter.
